The Ústí region offers a wide range of options for cycling enthusiasts. A cycle path that runs along the banks of the River Elbe is available for recreational cyclists, while more demanding sportsmen and women can conquer the local hills.

Bike Path no. 2:

Distance: 62 km.
Road description: Leaving Ústí nad Labem you have two options. Either you can head for Velké Březno and continue by a ferry to the bike path no. 3066 A (or possibly to the bike path no. 3066 B in Býňov), or you can head for Velké Žernoseky, take a ferry to Malé Žernoseky for the bike path no. 25 via Vlastislav, Most and Litvínov for Brandov in the Krušné Mountains, covering 82 kilometres.
The bike path no. 2 continues from the town of Litoměřice to the towns of Štětí, Mělník, Veltrusy and Kralupy nad Vltavou. The overall distance is 141 kilometres.
Bike Path no. 3066 A:
Nakléřov – Libouchec (3) – Malé Chvojno (4) – Velké Chvojno (6) – Luční Chvojno (7) – Mnichov (10) – Slavošov (12,5) – Mírkov (15) – Povrly (20) – Neštědice (21,5).
Distance: 21,5 km.
Road description: It is designed as a return path from the Krušné Mountains. It joins the bike path no. 23 in Nakléřov, then heads downhill via Libouchec, Malé Chvojno and Velké Chvojno. The path then goes uphill via Luční Chvojno to Mnichov, where it crosses the bike path no. 3067. It continues via Lipová and Slavošov, leads downhill to the river Labe and then continues via Mirkov, Lužec and Povrly to Neštědice and its ferry port. Taking a ferry you can get to Velké Březno, where you can join the bike path no. 2 for Děčín or Ústí nad Labem.
Bike Path no. 3066 B:
Velké Březno – Býňov (3) – Lhota pod Pannou (5) – Homole u Panny (7) – Haslice (8) – Řepčice (10) – Třebušín (11,5) – Ploskovice (15,5) – Žitenice (19) – Litoměřice (22,5). Distance: 22,5 km.

Road description: Leaving Velké Březno go along the Homolský Creek to Býňov, Lhota pod Pannou and Homole. You go still uphill through Haslice up to Řepčice. Then it is downhill through Třebušín, Vinné and Těchobuzice to Ploskovice. The last part leads through Pohořany and Žitenice to the town of Litoměřice, where you can join the bike path no. 2 for Ústí nad Labem.
Bike Path no. 23:
Děčín – Vlčí jezírko (8) – Sněžník (14) – Tisá (18) – Petrovice (23) – Nakléřov (28) – Krásný Les (33) – Adolfov (38) – Habartice (39).
Distance: 39 km.
Road description: Leaving Děčín pass through the villages of Jalůvčí, Tisá, Petrovice, Nakléřov, Krásný Les and Adolfov to Habartice, where you can join the bike path no. 3009 for Unčín. It is steeply uphill from Děčín to Sněžník, then it follows the ridge of the Krušné Mountains, where it is uphill and downhill in turn. If you want to save your time and effort, you can use the bike bus going from Ústí nad Labem or Děčín. The end of the path is at Měděnec, covering the distance of 130 kilometres.
Bike Path no. 3084:
Ústí n. L. – Důlce – Mariánská skála (1) – Dobětice – Rabasova (2,5) – Žežice (4,5) –crossroads Chuderov (6) – Sovolusky (6,5) – Libov (7) – Mnichov (10)
Distance: 10 km.
Road description: From the town centre head for Důlce and then go up to Mariánská Rock. Cross the main road above the Zoo for Rabasova Street. Then ride through the housing estate in Dobětice, pass the retirement home and continue through the old village of Dobětice following the blue path to Žežice. Turn right at the Chuderov crossroads and continue still uphill towards Sovolusky. Ride down to Radešín and further through Libov to Mnichov. In Mnichov there is the crossing of paths no. 3066 and no. 3067; you can follow either of them.
Bike Path no. 3067:
Děčín – Malšovice (4,5) – Javory (7,5) – Slavošov (10,5) – Lipová (11,5) – Mnichov (12,5) Čermná (15) – Modrá (17).
Distance: 17 km.
Road description: Leaving Děčín head for Malšovice, where you can join the bike path no. 3068. Then continue via Javory to Slavošov. There you also find the bike path no. 3066. Continue via Lipová, Mnichov and Čermná to Modrá. Following the bike path no. 3084 in Mnichov you can continue to Ústí nad Labem.
Bike Path no. 3068:
Malšovice – Choratice (2) – Dobkovice (4) – Panský Mlýn (7) – Šachov (8) – Slavošov (12).
Distance: 12 km.
Road description: Leaving Malšovice continue via the villages of Choratice, Dobkovice, Prosetín, Panský Mlýn and Šachov to Slavošov, where you can join the bike path no. 3066 or 3067.
Bike Path no. 3017:
Děčín – Sněžník (8) – Tisá - the Lodge (14) – Ostrov (16) – Rájec (17) – Nový Dvůr (18) – Petrovice (20).
Distance: 20 km.
Road description: The path begins in the town of Děčín – Oldřichov and goes through the town using the road to Bělá. From there the path follows the forest roads around Děčínský Sněžník, leading through the village of Sněžník, passing the lodge in Tisá, above the rocks of Tiská Wall and Ostrovská Rock, via Rájec passing the Rájecké Rocks to the border check point in Petrovice. It is possible to continue from Petrovice to Krásný Les for the bike path no. 23 and further to the villages of Adolfov and Habartice, where you can join the bike path no. 3009 for Unčín and Řehlovice.
Bike Path no. 3009:
Habartice – ruin Kyšperk – Unčín (10) – Stradov (12) – Chlumec (13) – Chabařovice (16) – Roudníky (21,5) – Habří (24) – Řehlovice (25).
Distance: 25 km.
Road description: Take a ride on the bike bus from Ústí nad Labem to Adolfov. Then follow the bike path no. 23 for about 1 km to the former village of Habartice (Fojtovice direction), where you can join the bike path no. 3009. Go downhill passing the Kyšperk Ruins, ride through Unčín and continue to Stradov, Chlumec, Chabařovice and Roudníky. You will reach the village Habří above the newly developing lake Milada. Then ride down to Řehlovice, where you can join the bike path no. 3071 to Trmice and further to Ústí nad Labem.
Bike Path no. 3071:
Trmice – Koštov (2) – Stadice (4) – Řehlovice (7) – Malhostice (9) – Rtyně nad Bílinou (11) – Sezemice (12) – Nové Úpořiny (14) – Bystřany (17) – Teplice (20).
Distance: 20 km.
Road description: Leaving the Venceslas Square in Trmice take Zámecká and Edisonova Streets. Passing the heating plant take Na Rovném Street, which takes you to Koštov. There you can join the red path and continue past the Královský pramen (Royal Source) to Stadice, Řehlovice and along the river Bílina to Malhostice. The path then continues via Rtyně nad Bílinou, Sezemice and Nové Úpořiny to Bystřany and Teplice.
Bike Path no. 3057:
Libochovany – Kalvárie (2,5) – Kamýk (5) – Hlinná (9) – Varhošť Col (11) – Čeřeniště (13) –crossroads Babiny I (17) – Ovčárna (19) – crossroads Pohořany (25) – crossroads Myštice (26) – crossroads Ploskovice (27,5) – Ploskovice (28).
Distance: 28 km.
Road description: It is the diverted part of the bike path no. 2. Leaving Libochovany go still uphill via Hrádek and Kamýk, go past Plešivec, then via Hlinná, Kunratice and the Varhošť Col to Čeřeniště. Then continue towards Ovčárna and turn right there, taking the forest road, which leads you first under the Babinský vrch (Babinský Hill) up to the Dlouhý vrch (Long Hill). Then passing the Panenský kámen (Virgin Stone) you reach the road. Going through Myštice you reach the village of Ploskovice, where you can join the bike path no. 3066 for Litoměřice. Here you find the bike path no. 2 that you can use on your way back to Ústí nad Labem. The path is difficult, covering bigger height difference.
Bike Path no. 3058:
Velké Žernoseky – Malíč (1) – Michalovice (2) – Knobloška (3) – crossroads Kamýk (5) – Miřejovice (6,5) – Lbín (11) – Pod Homolkou (12,5) – crossroads Čeřeniště (14).
Distance: 14 km.
Road description: It is the diverted part of the bike path no. 2 and no. 25 starting at the ferry port. Leaving Velké Žernoseky and passing through Malíč, Michalovice and Knobloška you reach the crossroads in Kamýk. Turn left and after a short ride in Kamýk direction turn right for Miřejovice. Turn right at the next crossroads and passing through Mentourov you reach the village of Lbín. The path goes steeply up to the col below Homolka and continues to Čeřeniště crossroads, where you can join the bike path no. 3057 for Ploskovice. There you can use the bike path no. 3066 or continue to Libochovany and use the bike path no. 2 for Ústí nad Labem.
Elbe biking route
The route is a part of the international biking route Hamburg-Prague No. 2. The route is led partly on local roads and partly on a biking way. The Elbe route is the lowest among the routes passing by the Ústí region.
Ústí nad Labem – Valtířov (towards Děčín)
A 5.8 km long trail passing over asphalt and slabs. The Mariánský Bridge – Olšinky loděnice section (0.94 km long) is under completion and is expected to be finished in the middle of 2006. The trail begins under Mariánský Bridge on the right bank of the River Elbe. Mariánská Rock (265 metres above sea level) stands on the other side.
2 km Olšinky – refreshments
2.7 km Svádov – a village with ancient settlement, today part of the City of Ústí nad Labem. The Church of St. James the Greater was built here in the Saxon Renaissance style between 1580 and 1610, whilst the Baroque vicarage and its column of the Three Kings were built by Anna Františka Toskánská. Svádov is also famed for its spring radishes and strawberries sold by the side of the road. Refreshments.
5km - Valtířov – part of the village of Velké Březno. The Church of St. Wenceslas was built here in the Gothic-Renaissance style (so-called Saxon Renaissance, 1574) and this is neighboured by a neo-Gothic chapel (1869), the grave of the Chotek family. A column of the Fourteen Holy Helpers stands in the small park. Refreshments.
Ustí nad Labem – Cirkvice (towards Litoměřice)
The 12,4 km route goes on an asphalt road, gravel road and pavement. The route is led partly on local roads and partly on a biking way. The terrain is unexacting with no greater altitude difference. That is why an altitudinal profile of the route is not included. The route begins under the Mariánský Bridge on the right bank of Labe. Mariánská Rock (165 m) on the opposite bank. The route passes by the road bridge of Dr. E. Benes (at the time of the construction in 1936 the largest vaulted arch with a connecting rod – 123,6 m) and by the railway bridge (1874) on Labe with a fauna information board.
There is a view of the St. Adalbert’s church with the Dominican cloister (the church constructed in 1715-30 by Octavio Broggio) and the Church of the Lady’s Assumption with a tower tilted by 2 meters from the true vertical axis visible between the two bridges on the opposite bank of the river. Ruins of a holiday restaurant Větruše and the gallows can be seen on the top of the hill outside the city. 2,74 km Masaryk flood gate – a technical monument (architect J. Vahala), constructed in 1923-36, the biggest hydroengineering structure in Bohemia in its time, water power plant, fish ladder, information board ”Střekov Dam”, passage between banks in summer from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Střekov castle over the flood gate – founded in 1316 to protect the river navigation, tower from the 14th century, Gothic palace from around 1500, chapel from 1520, since 1615 in possession of the Lobkowiczs. Favourite place of K. H. Macha, R. Wagner, E. G. Doerell. Castle open to public since the 19th century, exhibition of the regional history and the history of the castle, restaurant open Tue-Sun 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
National monument Vrkoc on the opposite (left) river bank – uncovered basalt vein with well-developed columniform separation, accessible view point, 12 m waterfall of the Podlešínský brook in the neighborhood. 3,13 km Painter’s Corner, state-protected wooden belfry, mile stone from 1800, the layout of houses around a circular village center is an evidence of Slavonic origin.
Natural reserve Sluneční stráň to the left side (declared in 1968, area 7.62 ha), part of a biocenter of regional importance, beginning of a nature trail ”Pod Vysokým Ostrým”.
4,90 km thermal swimming pool Brná (open 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.), first opened in the year 1931, 3 pools today, children’s pools and tobogans, boat-house, river crusades, refreshment.
6,10 km Srdíčko – restaurant, accommodation, visited by Karl May, St. Ann’s Chapel from 1756, food shop, city bus stop, river police station. Průčelská ravine to the left – woody and rocky ravine, the lower part leading to the nature trail ”Pod Vysokým Ostrým”, cascading waterfall.

Ford across the Němčický brook
8,21 km stopping place with a map at the water skiing point. Heap-shaped and cone-shaped tops of the originally underground basalt formations: Skřivánčí Vrch near Brná n.L. and Matrny near Sebuzín, Deblik hill (459 m) on the horizon, we cross the Rytina brook flowing from Rytina canyon.
8,95 km Sebuzín, crossing of Tlučenský brook and turning from the river to the road, St. Vincent of Ferrera Chapel (1754), restaurant, post office, phone booth, food shop, railway station. Chalet site Dolní Zalezly on the opposite bank, white building of the Dubice church of St. Barbara (1579) on the horizon.
11,49 km Církvice, bus terminal station, phone booth, Church of the Lady’s Assumption with a timbered bell tower (Baroque building from 1701), Baroque statue of St. John of Nepomuk from the 18th century, refreshment, stopping point with a map, return to the river. Here the Labe biking route on the the territory of the Ustí nad Labem district ends. You can go on over Libochovany, Velké Žernoseky to Litoměřice. In Velké Žernoseky the biking route crosses another biking route from Most to Doksy. Here you can cross the river to Malé Žernoseky on the left bank in a boat and continue to Oparenské valley.
