Varhošť Lookout Tower

An asymmetric basalt hill (639 m) situated on the border of the Ústí n. L. and Litoměřice regions above the village of Sebuzín. A circular 13 m high metal lookout tower is the third one to have been built here, replacing the former two wooden ones that  had fallen into ruin. The top platform  offers a wonderful unobstructed panoramic view of the whole Bohemian Uplands as well as the ridges of the Ore Mountains, and you can see as far as part of Ústí nad Labem, dozens of villages and hamlets, and far into the Bohemian inlands with the characteristic silhouette of the Říp Mountain. The view of the River Elbe is interesting, usually running through a deep valley. Its flow is visually interrupted by different hills and heights, so we can see it discontinuously - 8 times in total.
